Senior Network Engineer

Celerius has been helping customers achieve operational excellence for over 40 years.  Our innovative platform, dedicated engineers, and decades of IT experience combine to enable our customer’s success.  As a senior network engineer, you will be given several customers to handle as the primary technician and work any service desk tickets. In addition, you will be expected to complete certification training on our firewalls and VoIP phone systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer and support Windows Servers ranging from Windows 2008R2 to Windows 2022.
  • Assist junior technicians with server and workstation issues.
  • Become a subject matter expert on the products and services that we offer, including, but not limited to, Sophos Firewall and Central products, 3CX VoIP phone systems, several backup software systems, hosting services, and cyber security.
  • Setup up and administer Microsoft services, to include, but not limited to, Active Directory, DNS, WINS, DHCP, Hyper-V, Exchange Server, SQL Server, and Windows Clustering.
  • Provide direct end-user support whether on-site or remote.
  • Working knowledge of IT infrastructure.  This includes Firewalls, switches, patch panels, servers, workstations, printers, etc.
  • Working knowledge of IT security.  This includes antivirus, patch management, IT security audits, etc. 
  • Monitor, setup, and administer servers, virtual servers, and applications in a Microsoft Hyper-V environment.
  • Senior point of contact for our VoIP infrastructure.
  • Assist in the troubleshooting and resolution of complex issues.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of six (6) years of recent experience relevant to Information Technology, IT Security and IT security assessment.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience.
  • A strong understanding of Windows Server and Workstation operating systems and support.  MacOS experience a plus.
  • Microsoft certifications a plus.
  • Sophos certifications a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of IP networking and subnetting. 
  • Experience in implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting core Windows services such as Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, WINS, IIS, Exchange, SQL, Hyper-V, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of virtualization, primarily Microsoft Hyper-V.  Knowledge of VMWare is a plus.
  • Experience in administering and managing Microsoft 365.
  • Experience in Voice over IP communications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to customer locations for on-premise work.
